Paysafe’s digital wallet Skrill adds 20 cryptocurrencies as it expands its crypto service to additional 11 US states

Skrill has expanded its crypto service to 11 more states and territories in the US and added 20 new cryptocurrencies. 
Skrill’s crypto service is now available to 48 states in the US and nearly 100 countries worldwide. 

Paysafe Group Limited subsidiary Skrill digital wallet has announced the addition of 20 new cryptocurrencies for customers of its crypto service. With the addition, Skrill now offers 35 cryptocurrencies for buying and selling to customers outside the US. Also, the expanded portfolio is available within another of Paysafe’s proprietary digital wallets, NETELLER. 

Skrill expands crypto service

Skrill was founded in 2018, and since then, the digital wallet has been expanding its scope and functionalities. The digital wallet allows users to make direct crypto-to-crypto conversions. Also, customers can set recurring or condition orders. Since its launch, Skrill has been adding new cryptocurrencies while extending its reach to more customers. 

The newly added assets as Skrill expands its crypto service on the digital wallet include Aave (AAVE), Decentraland (MANA), Celo (CGLD), Compound (COMP), and The Graph (GRT). Others are Ankr (ANKR), Numeraire (NMR), Loopring (LRC), Uniswap (UNI), Polygon (MATIC), Dogecoin (DOGE), Synthetix Network Token (SNX), Curve (CRV), SushiSwap (SUSHI), SKALE (SKL), Storj (STORJ), NuCypher (NU), Maker (MKR), UMA (UMA), and Balancer (BAL). 

In March, Skrill digital wallet expanded its crypto offering to the US in collaboration with crypto exchange Coinbase. As a result of the partnership, customers across 37 states in the US have easy access to buy and sell multiple crypto assets. 

Following its expansion in May, Skrill has further launched its crypto service in 11 additional states and territories in the US. Some of the new states where Skrill’s buy and sell crypto service is available are North Carolina, California, Massachusetts, Florida, and Pennsylvania. Others are Rhode Island, Arizona, Iowa, South Carolina, Guam, and US Virgin Islands. Now, Skrill offers its crypto service to a total of 48 states and territories in the US and nearly 100 countries globally.  

4 in 10 Skrill consumers own crypto-investment

Back in May, a survey by Skrill showed that 4 in 10 consumers have invested in crypto. The survey was conducted between March and April to determine how much consumers know about cryptocurrencies. Consumers that participated in the poll span across different countries like Canada, Bulgaria. Other participants are also in Austria, Australia, Italy, Germany, the UK and the US. 

The study showed that many consumers are familiar with crypto, and many also have an investment in crypto assets. Skrill said that 38 percent of respondents have either invested or bought a minimum of one crypto. In addition, 84 percent stated that they have heard of at least one cryptocurrency. Out of the 84 percent, 64 percent named Bitcoin as a familiar digital coin. 

The senior vice president consumer at Paysafe’s digital wallets, Rupinder Singh stated that the firm’s digital wallets customers show increased interest in crypto. The Paysafe executive added:

The potential for this service is growing all the time, and we want to continue to expand responsibly what we offer at the same rate by adding new functionality, enabling new currencies and launching in new territories. Our aim is to make it even easier for consumers to get started in crypto using Skrill or NETELLER.
